At the 2020 China International Information and Communication Exhibition, Feixiang.com interviewed Mr.Tiger Wang, the CEO of Hotus Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. He introduced to us the company’s screen-less computer projection products, what innovations they have, and what applications can be applied.
Mr.Tiger Wang said: "Our innovation comes from making the traditional projection equipment smaller, and then putting it into a computer host that is also made with small size."

Guest: Mr.Tiger Wang, CEO of Hotus Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.
Moderator: As the pioneer of screen-less computer projection, which produced the first product, what are the advanced and leading technologies in this field?
Mr.Tiger Wang: On the projection aspect, it is a very traditional industry. On the projection aspect everyone has seen it as a projector in the past, to connect various devices, or it may be connected to a computer, there are many cables,it is related to how will you install and how to wire it. It is very cumbersome to use, and it is not easy to take it out.By integrating the projection equipment and the computer host into a small book-like shell, we can realize the possibility of office presentations anytime, anywhere with a computer in hand. Our innovation comes from making the traditional projection equipment smaller, and then putting it in a computer host that is also compact. Therefore,our projection product is not only a projector, it is a computer. We are the pioneers of screen-less computers. Our computer has no screen, no need a monitor. It can be reflected as long as there is a white wall. Out of the image. Therefore, we have our own full set of solutions and advanced supply chain management in terms of optical path design, heat dissipation system, imaging technology, module integration, and appearance structure, including many technical patents and the accumulation of our independent intellectual property rights.
Moderator: You just mentioned the issue of heat dissipation. I also visited your website before the interview. Generally speaking , your devices are equipped with relatively low energy consumption. Is this considering the overall heat dissipation problem?
Mr.Tiger Wang: This is not just considering the issue of heat dissipation. While making the volume smaller, we need to balance the performance and cost of the product based on the actual use scenario of the user. According to market analysis, business people do not lack of computer equipment. More often, we need an auxiliary device when we are on a business trip. We can use our files, such as design effects, development process, communication and collaboration, and conduct one-to-many presentation meetings via professional presentation equipment to achieve good interaction. Through meticulous market research, the results show that as a demonstration device, users do not need high-level configuration. Imagine that we bought a very high configuration computer , just reply to an e-mail, online chatting, don't you think it was a waste of extra money? This waste of resources, as an environmentally conscious citizen, I personally thought it is not good . For instance, why do you say that the government restricts emissions? Everyone in the urban commute drives a 5.0-emission car. Do you think this is a waste of resources?
Moderator: Because many people have projectors, there is a problem of longevity when used for a long time. How do your company's products deal with this problem?
Mr.Tiger Wang: We just talked about the optical parts of projection. Traditional projectors use halogen bulbs as the light source. Hotus Technology using LED light sources from Osram, Germany. It can work for at least 20,000 hours. How much is a product working for 20,000 hours? As for the time, it is turned on 24 hours a day, all year round, and the total is less than 9,000 hours. Moreover, this equipment cannot work 24 hours a day. Even if it works continuously for 24 hours, it has a service cycle of several years.
Moderator: What combination will it have with 5G in the future? What is the next development trend of screen-less computer projection products under the blessing of 5G?
Mr.Tiger Wang: Whether it is a screen-less computer or the future of 5G, in fact, as you know that the current computer is developing in the direction of integration, many smart devices are with a trend of integration. Our projection products, and even our other products, will be based on 5G research and development. When its channel is opened, we will do more contents and hardware technology development and extension for personal business and conferences. At present, we have an online video device for education and business meetings, which has integrated a wireless data module and can be applied to online education and online meetings immediately without any delay. When the network signal is not so good, the equipment is prone to freezes and delays. We have improved the user experience by integrating wireless data modules (currently completed 4G, 5G in research), and now on business trips, regardless of different companies, different units, In different regions, online meetings based on our equipment can allow users to experience the immersive experience. In this way, there is no need to transfer participants from Xinjiang to Beijing, just to hold a two-hour meeting. Our goal is to improve production efficiency. All equipment and tools are aimed at increasing productivity. A substantial increase in production efficiency is a disruptive innovation brought about by technological development.
Moderator: You are mainly focused on meetings. This is the main product of our products.Another type of product is entertainment.
Mr.Tiger Wang: We focus on business and educational aspects, the entertainment product will be our list in the future, we do not have a product major for entertainment yet. We are more focused on the display, commercial, and education sectors, for which we have integrated professional wireless voice and wireless video application modules.
Moderator: Are there plans to use 5G data modules ?
Mr.Tiger Wang: 5G is a current trend , we have to use it . There is no market ,if we use
3G at present .
Moderator: What kinds of 5G ?
Mr.Tiger Wang: The data module is like this. Currently we use UNISOC communication module.
Moderator: Is there any optimization for this ? Because some notebook products, for example, after the built-in data module, a separate client is built in to facilitate the user's package processing.
Mr.Tiger Wang: There is a software based on our own background service. When you start our educational and video software, it will choose whether you use the existing WIFI or the LAN or data module.Customers can choose in both directions. Regardless of whether it is using WIFI or a wired network, its speed is actually limited. When you use video conferencing and online education, if your internet speed is not up to date, I will use my data module to provide you with services.
Moderator: Is it dual?
Mr.Tiger Wang: Yes, it is to give priority to free data, if the speed is not enough. We have a software monitoring, you may find that your speed is not up to the speed. When online videos are stuck, all the videos will have a data accumulation in advance.If it is real-time, there is a stuck Traffic is equivalent to your gateway, network cable, and WIFI. I give priority to your traffic data. If you are too slow, I will do a smart switch.
Moderator: How much weight can our products do?
Mr.Tiger Wang: In terms of weight, our portable type projector has already reached about 700 grams.
Moderator: Is it connected to the power when using it?
Mr. Tiger Wang: We have a built-in battery, and the endurance life is about 90 minutes. Enough for general business meetings. Unlike internal company meetings, we have the research data in the field of personal business and away game meetings. The effective time of most PPT presentation is between 45 minutes to 68 minutes. If I do a lot of battery capacity now, you may not actually use it, but it increases the cost of the product and increases the carrying weight. Comrade reporters in particular, suppose I have to carry a pack of batteries when we are going out for an interview. What do you think in your mind? This is not a good experience. The battery is very heavy, the heaviest among all devices. After we make it heavy, it will be a step backwards for the portability of the product.
Moderator: Does the technology in the field of screen-less computers be integrated with the new infrastructure advocated today?
Mr.Tiger Wang: Of course, all the new infrastructure, all of our current educational equipment, whether it is elementary school, middle school, university, almost all the educational equipment are all foreigners brand, Japan, Panasonic, Hitachi , Sharp, we do not have domestically produced brand. Why don't we do this? As long as we have this opportunity, why should we purchase other people's? And we truly achieve the quality and function of the products . When it fully meets the needs of this scenario, I hope that
the government can bid for tenders, and when purchasing, if it possible to consider that whether Hotus Technology is a good option because it has the independent intellectual property rights. We believe that we have more advantages than big foreign brands.
Moderator: What is the domestic production rate of all your parts?
Mr.Tiger Wang: Complete localization is our goal. The modules and components in our products, including our self-developed chips, have already made more than half of the components domestically produced.
